RT London is headquartered in Grand Rapids, Michigan, with additional offices and manufacturing in Lacey, Washington and Columbia, South Carolina.
History
In the early 1900s, Grand Rapids was known as the furniture capital of the world. There is still a sense of pride in that rich history and a strong nucleus of skilled furniture makers remain in the West Michigan area.
Established in 1989, RT London listened to several local colleges seeking durable furniture from a reputable manufacturer, encouraging us to manufacture a wide range of furniture products for the college and university market. We have since expanded our offering of high quality furniture to other markets such as the government services sector, conference centers and more.
We occupy a building that has its roots in the furniture industry. Built in the late 1800s, our building has been added to a number of times through the years, totaling just under a half-million square feet. It has always been the home for companies that make furniture, and RT London continues that tradition.
In an effort to expand our base to nation-wide coverage, we acquired Norse Furniture in Olympia, Washington, in January, 2002. Norse was a logical choice. Their approach to customers matched ours, focusing on building the right product with great quality, aimed at forming long-term relationships. And their history is significant. On the west coast and in the southwest, they have been serving the furniture market since 1972.
In 2009, RT London acquired M. Craig in Columbia, South Carolina. It’s strategic location provided a natural advanatage for building and shipping to our southern customers. Known for their high end residential furniture manufacturing, M. Craig’s skilled workforce added a new strength to RT London in solid wood manufacturing.
Now together as one company, RT London offers more choices than ever before to meet the broad needs of today’s market across the country.
