MOD about Off-Campus Housing
Modern. Flexible. Multi-Funtional. In May 2009, RT London’s was pleased to contribute to Calvin College’s off-campus housing option called Project Neighborhood, which gives students the opportunity to live in a residential community within an urban neighborhood.
The 3-story Grand Rapids home was donated and renovated by Gordon Food Service. Renovations include extensive aesthetic updates, as well as a sizable addition made to the home to accommodate the community living environment. Additional parking spaces in back utilize “green” technology, allowing grass to grow through concrete tubes instead of paving over the natural environment.
Calvin College utilized RT London’s complimentary interior design service when specifying furniture solutions that would meet the unique needs of this home. The flexibility of the products used will allow students to customize their own living spaces, as well as commune together as a group. The modern lines and eco-friendly features of the furniture reflect the urban flair of this Grand Rapids home – a clean, fresh approach to off-campus housing.
“I was suprised to see the variety of furniture options that RT London had. I went in looking for bunk beds and desks and realized my whole project could be completely furnished by RT London. The staff was so accommodating, listened to our needs and designed layouts that worked with our program outcomes.” John Britton, Associate Dean of Student Development – Calvin College, Grand Rapids, MI
