Case Study
Modularity/Flexibility
One of the key features of our MFS product line is its built-in ability to be easily reconfigurable in a room setting. With the modularity that is designed into the line, students are able to arrange their rooms into configurations that support how they want to live. The combinations are endless. It stands to reason, if an occupant has control over the arrangement of their environment, their satisfaction will go up dramatically.
To help customers understand the flexibility of the product, we’ve provided information sheets that offer suggestions/possibilities of how the furniture can be arranged. These are handed out at student move in. The information gives them an idea of what can be done, and gets them on a creative path, thinking about what they can do to personalize their space.
One of our customers has taken it a step further. We provided 3-d images of the MFS product line, and they generated an interactive room-layout tool that could be accessed via the web. On-line, students could begin experimenting about how they wanted their room set up before they even arrived.
The college understands that a positive, flexible environment in their residence halls is of paramount importance in that student’s evaluation of his/her college experience.
