Beauty in basics

A proven performer over the years with 1" hardwood veneer plywood. Side frames are a single piece. No joints. Glue and dowel construction and metal-to-metal fasteners for easy field replacement of upholstery.

Resources:

Sled base: 19"W x 33”H x 20"D. Seat height: 18". Arm option arm height: 24".
1-piece, 1" hardwood veneer plywood used for frame.
3⁄4" solid hardwood rails.
Rails are doweled and glued into chair frame.
Back is 1⁄2" contoured plywood, covered with polyurethane foam and fabric, or finished 3⁄4" hardwood veneer plywood.

Seat is 3⁄4" plywood, covered with polyurethane foam and fabric, or finished 3⁄4", contoured, hardwood veneer plywood.
Seat pan is attached to chair with fasteners through four solid hardwood corner blocks.
Finish is a multi-step process of catalyzed filler, sealer and lacquer coats with buffing, scuffing and sealer sanding between coats.
