Covenant House

Covenant House of Grand Rapids came to RT London in need of bedroom, lounge and lobby furniture for their brand-new $3.5 million, three-story, 17,000-square-foot youth home.

Essix Single Bed

The Customer Need

The new Covenant House needed to outfit 28 single rooms - 14 for men, 14 for women. Although the bedrooms are small - approximately 4’ 5 x 7’ 4 - Covenant House wanted to provide individual rooms to offer a sense of privacy and ownership to young adults who in many cases have never had a room of their own. Each room needed to accommodate a bed, a desk for studying, and some storage. In addition, they were also looking for comfortable lounge furniture for Enclave rooms (private counseling areas), easily-movable pieces for common lounge spaces, and a welcoming lobby.

The RT London Solution

RT London partnered with Covenant House to find the right furniture solution, opting for Essix lofted beds, Essentials casegoods, and InFlex chairs for use in the bedrooms. Our Natural Maple finish was chosen to lighten up the smaller rooms, alongside zoned tops in Slate for the desks and chests to reflect the shades of gray in the floor. Our contemporary Turner lounge was used in the lobby area, and the flexible Lucy lounge and Westwood media center in the Enclave rooms and lounge areas. Our design services team helped to select fabrics in the perfect shades of yellow and blue to coordinate with the Covenant House brand colors.
