Dumbarton Oaks
This project involved a dealer, Creative Office Pavilion (COP), in Boston who has experience working with RT London and has maintained a strong business relationship over the years. Dumbarton Oaks is a Harvard University project on the campus of Georgetown University in Washington D.C. After providing solutions for the nearby Harvard Kennedy School, COP thought of RT London and introduced us to the designer, Bruce Danzer at LAB [3.2] Architecture.
The Customer Need
The designer had a vision of products in mind that focused on being aesthetically appealing and durable. One of the most important features for this project was that the products needed to be made with quality materials and construction and also be custom designed to match the exact needs of the customer.
RT London Solution
Working with RT London gave the customer and designer the confidence that their product would stand to the test of time. The products were manufactured with High Pressure Laminated surfaces with a particle board core. While utilizing the RT London custom capabilities, RT London interior designers we able to provide layouts and renderings and create the aesthetically appealing look that was desired. The end product was completely customized to fit the design, quality and budget needs. The products stand up to rigorous use and are backed by a 25-year warranty.
About the Customer
Dumbarton Oaks Research Library and Collection in Washington, DC is administered by the Trustees for Harvard University. Located in residential Georgetown, Dumbarton Oaks welcomes researchers at all career stages who come to study its books, objects, images, and documents. It opens its doors to the public to visit its historic gardens, museum, and music room.
